Combines an audio tone indicator with digital and bar graph LCD indications of signal strength and polarity, allowing you to determine if what’ s being detected by the locator is a minute 1/ 4" P-K nail or a huge 55-gallon steel drum. As you move along a buried object, the two indicators work together to inform you about the object’ s size, if it’ s vertical or horizontal, and even if it’ s a magnetically detectable nonmetallic duct, cable, or pipe. The locator operates for up to 30 hours on two 9V batteries, detects larger objects ( i.e. well casings) as deep as 15 ft. below the surface, and ignores nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper. Features include a three-in-one knob which turns the locator on/ off, adjusts the sensitivity, and tests the battery; two selectable audio modes ( continuous tone or tone only when over a target) ; and a rugged, all-weather housing with 21" waterproof tip.
