When there are no telephone lines or the standard line of sight radio communication is not usable, another alternative is the AX-911 Cellular Telephone Interface. The standard cellular package consists of a AMPS ( Analog) 2 Watt cellular telephone, gain antenna, and a special data interface that connects to the AX-996 Dialup Modem. Because of the power requirements, a timer unit is provided to control the times when the radio unit is activated. Various preselected communications times can be set so that during these time windows the cellular radio is activated and communications to the remote site can be made. When power is available, this feature can be shut off for continuous cellular connection. System includes a multi-element Yagi antenna for best signal capture and transmission to cellular tower.
