SPECIES

Yellow Balau bangkirai, Keruing, Mempening, Selangan Batu ( Bangkirai) , Kapur, Meranti Batu, Kempas [ No Merbau & Mengris ( with phloem) ]

QUALITY
1) S4S Standard Grade according to THMLPGR of 1987
2) No twist and split allowed.
3) Spring max. 6mm over 1.2m. Bow deviation limited to 1.5mm per 1.2m and 3mm per 2.4m.
4) Defects allowed: Scattered Pinholes, wormholes and sound knots as long as they do not affect the structural strength of wood, discoloration
5) Sapwood: Max 20% of the pieces in one lot/ container can be sapwood. However a piece that has sapwood has to be 100% sapwood ( sound sapwood - no decay allowed) . Pieces with mixed sapwood and heartwood are not allowed.

SEASONING

Timber must be well seasoned. Maximum 20-25% MC

MACHINING

Stickers are S4S or S2S, multiripped ( but sucofindo agree only with S4S)

TOLERANCE

Thickness and Width: -0/ + 1mm. Tolerance on Length: -0/ + 3mm
The tolerances are critical and must be adhered to.
