HISTORY

General Chemical Company began trading in October 1989 as an importer

of chemical raw materials. The activities of the company expanded

significantly over the first five years to a point where over 300 items

are regularly sold on an ex-stock basis. Products were principally

imported from Asia but expansion of product range over the past few

years has seen increasing quantities of product coming from Europe, the

Middle East and the U.S.A.

OBJECTIVES

It is the policy of General Chemicals company to provide a superior

standard of service to our customers. As general Chemicals begins a new

five year plan Australia will move out of recession resulting in

accelerated growth for the company. It is the intention of management

never to compromise our standard of service as the business expands

Through planning and good logistics management, general Chemicals will

continue to outperform our competitors in the market place.

SERVICE

The main factor behind the continued expansion of General Chemicals is

service. Senior management personally oversee the processing of each

customers' order. This has significantly reduced supply lead times to a

point where over 95% of all ex-stock sales are delivered the following

day after the order has been placed. Customers purchasing items on an

indent basis are kept informed as to the shipping schedule and expected

delivery date of their order. This " hands on " approach to service has

enabled General Chemicals to become well regarded in the industry as a

reliable supplier of raw materials.

QUALITY

Quality systems and procedures are in place at General Chemicals which

conform to our customers individual requirements. This ensures that

General Chemicals only distributes materials sourced from Quality

Assured suppliers. In addition to this, the management of General

Chemicals come from technical backgrounds within the Chemical Industry

segments where our customers operate. This ensures a common sense

approach to the supply of quality raw materials. The staff at General

Chemical Company are well trained in the nature of each product

together with its application.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Tiger Chemicals has built up considerable expertise in the use of the

products it supplies. Technical input from General Chemicals into our

customers' research and development programs has resulted in new

applications for our range of raw materials, and indeed new products to

be marketed by our customers. A significant increase in our sales is

due to new applications being found for existing product lines.

Business activity comprises five main areas- Surface Coatings,

Textiles, Detergents, Food and Pharmaceutical and Commodity trading.
